The tourniquet handle is machined from a solid piece of aircraft aluminum while the tri-rings are molded Acetyl, a high impact plastic. A dual locking systems guarantee that tension is maintained at all times, and the primary system has a back up of its own should it be necessary. Safety set screw prevents accidental release of pressure during tactical patient movement. No velcro is used to maintain tension which greatly reduces the chance of accidental release of the tourniquet. The fastening system will perform when dirty, muddy, frozen, or wet.
